The recent announcement by the American daily fantasy sports contest and sports betting operator DraftKings that it has partnered with South African gaming and hospitality group Peermont Hotels, Gaming and Resorts comes after the US firm signed a multi-year arrangement with US media giant Turner Sports.
The DraftKings’ advanced B2B platform for sportsbooks will power the group’s first sports wagering offering, PalaceBet (PalaceBet.co.za) in South Africa.
Thanks to this partnership sports wagering in South Africa will be able to bet on sports utilizing features such as “Pulse Betting” and “Your Bet”. Adding to the access with data integration by the IMG and Genius Sports Group Limited subsidiary Betgenius, sports wagering players will be able to bet on local and international games including basketball, cricket, football, tennis, and Lucky Numbers.
Shay Berka who is the Chief International Officer for DraftKings, commented on the deal, “This collaboration brings together two organizations committed to providing South Africa’s sports fans with the most dynamic and innovative sports betting experience.” Berka added, “We are delighted that DraftKings’ B2B technology is powering Peermont’s entry into sports betting, through which they can provide their customers with extensive markets, live betting opportunities, competitive pricing and localised payment options.”
