Quebec Canada’s provincial gambling monopoly is incorporating some live wagering into its online sports gambling. The gambling rules in Canada however requires that a gambler combines live lotteries into a parlay type wager.
Mise-o-jeu digital sports gambling product announced it will offer live betting. This is the first time the Espace-Jeux betting site has enabled a wager on a game that is in progress. Unlike the gambling options offered by the European operators of online sports the new offering will be focused on the known pre-game markets now available for all the games on Loto-Quebec’s current list.
The catch is that live betting is alright for bet wins total points made by a team with more shots on target but there are no wagers on which players will be put in the penalty box or the next to actually score.
Loto-Quebec is using some interesting market strategies to get gamblers turned on to the idea of live online sports betting. The corporation is adding partial cash-outs alternatives for players who enjoy early parlay success but are unable to swing late stages of the wagering combo regardless of the game period.
The Canadian federal government has not legitimized single-game wagers, so players must combine at least two live bets into a single gamble just as in pre-match wagering.
It is not certain how long it will take the current minority government in Canada to change the gambling laws with so many other issues already on the table. Quebec’s gambling authority’s most recent annual financial report is long overdue. When presented the delayed report is expected to feature Espace-Jeux’s revenue growth as a major plus for the government’s coffers.
